Fascinating insights into the structure of the earth’s crust in the Ruhr valley are to be found in the Geological Garden in the suburb of Wiemelhausen.

The garden, which is a natural monument, exhibits the different materials that have been deposited in the course of 300 million years. This includes coal, which for a long time shaped the city of Bochum. The journey into the past is completed by primeval Ginkgo and Mammoth trees.

Due to storm Ela in 2014 we recommend to stay on public ways for your own safety.
